Growing up in California I had the opportunity to visit many wineries here. I loved the winery lifestyle and loved seeing people enjoy and learn about wine. As I visited other states during my travels, I realized how blessed we are in California. Most states have only a handful of wineries, and most are difficult to reach because they are in agricultural areas far away from population centers. I began developing the concept of a suburban winery around 2004 and opened our first location later that same year. I developed a global supply chain that allows our wineries to purchase high-quality varietal grape must from around the world and have them shipped to the suburban winery.
