Talented photographer, decorated pilot, attentive parents and generous neighbors are just a few ways to describe Dyan and Jason Witt. Now, they can add winery owners to the list. This past summer, Jason retired from a twenty-one-year career flying for the United States Navy. As Dyan and Jason saw his retirement on the horizon, the two spent the past couple of years brainstorming second careers for Jason. The top priority on Dyan’s list: keep him home. The top priority on Jason’s list (though he agreed with Dyan’s): no desk. While he was all for sleeping in his bed every night and cheering on his kids at all of their sporting events, Jason wasn’t keen on trading in a plane for a cubicle.
